To help support local families, NorthCountry Federal Credit Union has contributed $50,000 to the Greater Burlington YMCA’s Youth Development programs. The gift will help ensure children have access to high-quality childcare, swim lessons, summer camp, and afterschool opportunities.

“The Y is a haven for children, where they can be happy, healthy, and safe. The pandemic has created financial burdens for many families. We’re happy to support an important resource that is available regardless of a parent’s ability to pay,” said Bob Morgan, NorthCountry CEO. “It’s our pleasure to sponsor some of the best childhood experiences available in Vermont.”

Each year, the Y nurtures 3,000 children through their participation in Y early childhood, afterschool, swim team, and summer programs. Additionally, 1,000 children are enrolled in Y water safety and swim lessons.

NorthCountry Federal Credit Union is open to anyone who lives or works in northern Vermont. It is headquartered in South Burlington. It provides financial services designed to provide convenience and value, and commits 10% of its previous year’s net revenue to community giving. It was organized in 1950, and is the third largest credit union in Vermont.
